I cannot say enough about how great these ovens are!! The meat probe thermometer is such a great feature that we use it weekly. Customer service on the unit is fantastic as well! We will put these ovens in every home we own!

Defective product - Do not buy it!

Model #KODE500EWH02
Serial #D64714898
Purchased May 2017
The blue interior finish in the two ovens are cracking, flaking and coming off. As shown in the attached photo, some pieces have a width of about the diameter of one dime, and some pieces have a width of about the diameter of two to four dimes.
The pieces that I have discovered so far have all come from the front lip area of the interior cavity, near the edges. Both the top and bottom ovens are showing the exact same problem in the exact same location. There may be additional areas of cracking/flaking, but I do not want to damage the oven by testing other sections of the interior finish. It is clear from a close up inspection of the front lips that there is a weakness in the interior finish, and that additional areas will likely crack/flake off.
The front lips of the two ovens are not an area that needs to be cleaned, nor is this an area that is touched during placement of food dishes on the racks in the oven. Thus, this portion of the ovens was never touched during use. Also, neither of the ovens have yet been run through a self-cleaning cycle which results in high heat. Of course, the ovens are presumably designed to handle the heat associated with this cycle, but I am mentioning this fact anyway. Since purchase, the ovens are used only a few times per week for normal baking and cooking.
These ovens have a convection feature that circulates air throughout the oven. The convection feature cannot be used because pieces of the interior finish may become lodged in the food containers. Thus, this is not merely a cosmetic issue. Furthermore, now that there are large surface areas of the oven that are not protected by the interior finish, I am concerned that the ovens may become damaged during normal use.
I called Kitchenaid Customer Service at 866-524-3852 and was told by Brandy that Kitchenaid cannot provide any assistance because the one year parts and labor warranty is expired. I registered the oven with Kitchenaid upon purchase so they were able to locate the initial registration, but then Brandy simply confirmed that this issue fell within the one year parts and labor warranty. The ovens were professionally installed by our kitchen renovation contractor, but they have no responsibility for the defective ovens, and nothing related to the installation would have damaged this part of the ovens since the ovens came fully assembled.
Brandy at Kitchenaid referred me to their factory-authorized repair service that covers my location, which is "Quaker City Factory Service" (215-455-4700), and offered to arrange for a service call at a cost of $105 that I would have to prepay. Brandy at Kitchenaid did not know whether a problem like this is fixable. She was not aware of any solution to fixing the problem. She also suggested that I call Quaker City directly to speak to them about the problem. I declined the service call option.
I called Quaker City Factory Service last week and explained the problem to their service technician. The service technician informed me that there is no repairable solution to this problem, so there is no point in setting up a service call. He said that there is a heat resistant paint marker that can cosmetically touch up oven liners, but this would not provide a solution to the problem, and would not prevent additional areas from flaking off.
The problem with this double oven is clearly the result of a defect in materials and workmanship that existed when the appliance was purchased, and thus is covered under Kitchenaid's First Year Limited Warranty. However, since that time window has expired, we are out of luck.
No more Kitchenaid products for us, ever!

Slow to heat up

I find this double oven needs 15 minutes to heat to the correct temperature. Therefore I bought a counter top toaster oven and use it most of the time. Also the corners bake quicker than the middle.

Beautiful Oven with great features

We had a Kitchenaide oven for 22 years and it finally went out. I wanted another oven I could depend on. The oven looks great! The middle racks glide out, and the features are easy to use. It has everything I wanted. Love it so far. I hope it lasts as long as the other one did.

Purchased this to replace 20 yr. old KitchenAid double ovens. Old ovens had noisy fans from day one. These ovens are QUIET, barely hear the fans running. I love the SatinGlide racks, what a clever feature. Cooking temps are spot on. Glass oven doors are definitely see-through and easy to clean, inside and out. Lighting is superb, no need to open doors to take a peek. The adjustable tones are good, I don't have any problems hearing them. The 2 suggestions I have to make it better are #1 put the "0" on the keypads where most keypads are, underneath, not off to the side. #2 Add an override feature to manual convection cooking and rapid preheat. I bake/cook most items at 350 degrees which is 325 convection, and to have to select manual temperature then select rapid preheat each time gets tedious. I gave the ovens 5 stars because the performance and features far out weigh the 2 minor inconveniences.

Cleans Terrible

This double oven was purchased in November 2018. The oven looks beautiful. However, it has a flaw in the door design. There are big rectangular holes along the door which I'm sure should be there. The problem is that when the juices from a roast get in the there is no way to clean the drippings from the glass. There are four pieces of glass. The two interior ones there's no way to reach and Kitchenaid says it's cosmetic and won't help despite it being one month old. Don't buy!

Saved our Thanksgiving

Our old double oven went out about 10 days before Thanksgiving. Because of shipping delays we were afraid we couldn't get a new double oven with the features we wanted in time. We had a lot of help from the retailer (Best Buy) and Kitchenaide and got the new double oven (with true convection) the Friday before Thanksgiving. Installation went flawlessly and we cooked for nearly 40 guests who were greatly impressed with the performance of the new double ovens.

I bought this oven this year and have had nothing but trouble with it since. Every time I try to use both ovens on convection it shuts down with F2E1 CODE. This has ruined multiple meals. Service techs replaced 2 control boards and touchpad. Repairs have failed. Do I have any recourse on this issue? Obviously a lemon. Please respond. Thank you

We have had the double convection oven for approximately 1 month, I absolutely love everything about it. It's a huge step up from my last kitchen aid oven. The cooking quality is much better, even browning, and quicker with the convection. I especially love the meat probe feature. No more over cooked or under cooked meat! I am so impressed and will continue to use and recommend kitchen aid!!!

We have owned KitchyAid for decades; we purchased based upon representation alone. So far, we have no complaints using the oven only twice since purchase!

We purchased our new 30" double wall ovens last month. Our old whirlpool double ovens of 12 years finally died. I was happy when the new kitchen aid fit in the same location with only moderate modifications to the cabinet. Also the convention oven is very quiet.

My double wall ovens are a great improvement over European old ovens.
The inside is a great blue easy to see when cleaning is needed. Even heat. In my
food classes I had 7 ovens to deal with over the 32 years of teaching, I find the
new KitchenAid a wonderful product.
